One of the most frequently used features of PolygonScan is the ability to check the balance and activity of any Polygon wallet address. Because blockchain transactions are public by design, anyone can look up any address on PolygonScan to see its current POL balance, complete transaction history, token holdings, and associated NFT assets.
To check a wallet, simply paste the Polygon address (a 42-character string beginning with 0x) into the PolygonScan search bar and press Enter. The address overview page loads instantly, displaying the current native POL balance in both token units and approximate USD value.
The Transactions tab shows a chronological list of all native POL transfers involving the address. Each row shows the transaction hash, block number, timestamp, method called, from address, to address, and value.
Viewing Token Holdings
The Token dropdown on the address page reveals all ERC-20 tokens held by the wallet, along with each token's balance and approximate USD value. This gives a comprehensive view of the wallet's DeFi portfolio. The ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tabs show NFT holdings.
The Token Approvals Tool
PolygonScan also offers a Token Approvals tool, accessible from the address page, that shows all active ERC-20 spending approvals granted by the wallet to smart contracts. Reviewing and revoking unnecessary approvals is a key security practice, and PolygonScan makes this process straightforward.
